Completion of work and feedback to teacher forms

This year, for the first half of the year, I trialed using a Google form for students to check off their work from the text book. There was also space for them to note areas they struggled with.

This was helpful for working out next steps for learning. In most cases it was a matter of sitting down with the student and working through related concepts or a question or two to help them overcome this sticking point.

A simple tool but very effective.

During the latter part of the year I found students were more willing to use their initiative to come and ask for help. This was great because the last part of the year was more focused on research essays that the Google form would not work for in the same format.
